It's the second annual Save 2nd Base fund raiser for the island's American Cancer Society chapter. The money goes to help fund the St. John relay For Life when individuals and teams camp out with the goal of keeping at least one team member on the track or pathway at all times throughout the evening. At the party, representatives will sign up teams for the event. It will be held Feb. 11-12, 2012.
The 2nd Base Block Party runs from 7 pm to 11 pm and promises to be a scene,' in the best sense of the word. The happy hour/evening scene at Woody's can become a zoo any weekend night but you can expect this Saturday night to be even crazier.
The Inquiring Iguana would like to emphasize that the event, like all fund raisers, is not just for locals. They're great opportunities to experience more of St. John than the beaches, hiking trails, sun and waters. Visitors are welcome at any of these events. You can meet folks to who live on the island ('the dream''), own businesses, and have made the move that lots of people only think about doing.
The logo for the event was crafted by Grace Bartolucci, a senior at Antilles School. She hopes to attend a college next year to study graphic design.
