Apparently fearing terrorists have identified the old car barge port as an easy target, the Transportation Safety Administration has agreed to pay $60,000 for to install fencing at the terminal. Locals know it as The Creek; it's on the waterfront, across from Nature's Nook.
The Virgin Islands Port Authority approved a contract for the project at its meeting this week, the St. John Source reported.
This picture here is of similar fencing at the Cruz Bay ferry dock which does a fine job keeping people from walking directly from the ticket office to the ferries. It does nothing to block anyone in a dinghy, on either side of the dock, getting to shore or the boats.
