Come see my studio!
Oct 06, 2009
The time is near, so I hope you've blocked out the dates on your calendar to come and visit me in my Great Falls Studio on October 17-18 (Saturday and Sunday) from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
It's the big weekend of the year for our 88-member artist group, Great Falls Studios. There are 44 members participating and over 30 venues, so please come out and support our hardworking group of painters, potters, jewelers, collage artists, fabric artists, photographers, sculptors and more.
As an incentive, we are giving away $2000 in "ARTBUCKS" in $50 increments. So, 40 lucky winners will; be able to apply $50 to any purchase from our members on that weekend. You can submit your name in boxes located at the library, Great Falls Hardware, Katie's Coffee and the Atelier or easier still, you can enter your name on-line at our website: www.greatfallsstudios.com The deadline for entry is October 14 and your chances are really good to win!
Here's a link to a Google map to my studio from the Village Center in Great Falls, Rt. 193 and walker Road.
Come to my studio first, and I'll give you our nice full color program with photos of each artist's product and directions to their studios, too.
I have been hard at work and have many new pieces to show off in metalwork, fiber collage jewelry and intricate bead work. Time permitting, I will also be demonstrating some of my techniques. I'll look forward to seeing you! (Please e-mail me if you need personalized directions).
In other "news", I taught a super class this past weekend in Metalworks I. One of my former pupils said, "I took the one wire class from you which was the highlight of my 'beading' career."
Anyway, the most recent class was completely full and the wait-list long enough to schedule another class, so that is what we have done. I will be teaching Metalworks I, again on Saturday, January 16, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Star's Beads in Vienna. Please telephone to register (703 938 7018). I have a feeling that this one will fill up, too, so don't wait. They can only fit 8 people in the class.
If you're down in the Great Falls Library, be sure to check out the display case next to the large conference room as I've put out a number of pieces of my jewelry for all to see. The library will also be a venue for the Studio Tour, with five people setting up their art in the conference rooms.I look forward to seeing you in just a few days!
