Rocketboom is going bi-coastal. Founders of the daily video blog of news and humor, Amanda Congdon and Andrew Baron, have taken the wraps off a new program, "Jet Set Show", a video blog aimed at kids. A sample was included in Friday's Rocketboom. It features two Muppet-like characters as anchors.
Congdon said the show "is in beta" through the end of the month, while developing a mix of content including how to's and pointers to blogs. They are also looking "those kids who just can't get the camera out of their hands and would like to share their stories with kids all over the world."
Rocketboom-for-kids will be produced Thursdays and Fridays by a sparse crew in Los Angeles.
Also over the weekend, Congdon was featured on "CNN Reliable Sources." The 24-year-old said she was "as much of a journalist as Jon Stewart" but has no pulsing ambition to leap from the Web to television. "I'm definitely going to stick with it ... we're interested in creating other video blogs and making a bunch of different new media outlets." Here's a transcript .
