The annual July 4th Celebration Parade began at the ball field next to the National Park’s offices and wound through Cruz Bay to the Sprauve School. Paraders included, as usual, the Middle Age Majorettes, and, new this year, the Guy Benjamin School. Both the Westin Resort and Caneel Bay sponsored floats. If you weren’t there, "nikiarw" was and posted a 10-minute video.
The Westin St. John, on the South Shore road, features three restaurants, one huge pool, and a great beach. There are about 100 hotel rooms and, now under construction, hundreds of timeshare apartments.
