Virgin Islands Governor endorses Obama
Gov. John deJongh won't be able to vote for Barack Obama if the Illinois senator is on the Presidential ballot this fall, but he can offer an endorsement. And that's what the Governor did on the eve of the Iowa caucuses.
"Each of the leading ... candidates have (sic) the skills and experience to lead the country, but Barack Obama is the best candidate for change when change is most needed in this world," the Governor said.
"I am confident that the Virgin Islands will have a stronger voice in an Obama White House," the Governor added, according to a report by Caribbean Net News.
Earlier this year, deJongh and his wife, Cecile, hosted a fund raiser for Obama at the Ritz Carlton Resort.
He's been in office for eight years and hasn't created "change", what makes you think that he will create change now? He is a great motivational speaker, and that's where he belongs, not in the White House where he has no experience with international diplomacy, passing legislation that He has authored, or making independent decisions without asking Republicans for their support. A man in Gov.deJongh should not have bought in to Obama's unsubstantiated smooth talking. I'm disappointed.

Bill and Hillary Clinton have shown us in recent days that they are not really what they profess to be. With the world the way it is and the people of America treated the way we are, I'm not sure that an experienced player is what we need in a game that must, for the survival of the country and the world, change. The way this country is run now treats many groups of people in a disrespectful way and it is time for change. An expert in the old game will perpetuate the old game and that has to stop. Our Governor should be proud and we of him.
