We're getting ready for a trip to France next month. I've signed up to take a three-hour photo tour. Friends, knowing my interests have alerted me to some photographers' French work.
Fulvio Boniva is one of them. Here's a link to his/her(?) site: http://www.fulviobonavia.com/. There are two portfolios. One is Paris Market and the other is Venice Carnival.
My wife is looking forward to the Paris Market and thinks I should be, too. But Boniva's images are examples of why I tell her she doesn't understand what makes a photograph for me. The Paris shots leave me cold (except the baby dolls in a pile). They're pictures of ... things.
Boniva's Venice shots - now THERE are some photographs. Not particularly arty or interpretive, but very interesting. The B&W works, too.
