Slow readers at the New York Times?

AppealUh, has The Times dropped the "new" from its newspaper?

The lead item in Sunday's Book Review focused on Grisham's latest book, The Appeal.

On the cover of the section is a huge graphic and the start of an Appeal review by uber-media-business guy Steven Brill.  It comes two months(!) after publication of what you  might say is the story of Erin Brockovich-meets-Michael Clayton.  Inside the Book Review, its best seller chart shows The Appeal has been on it for seven weeks.

I'm just askin', here.  Newspaper book sections have become less common. Their remaining pages have become fewer.  Just seems strange that The Times would devote so prominent a space to a guaranteed best seller when it clearly doesn't need the promotion.

Here's a link to the review.
