CNBC's Maria Bartiromo wants to trademark her nickname, "Money Honey." Her New York attorney filed eight applications with the Patent Office about two weeks ago to cover the use of the term for "stuffed animals, an ongoing children's television series, online chat rooms" and lots more.
GRRRRRR ... the Trademark Office's site search is not good. You can't link to results. When a session "ends," it's over. You can't follow it back. OK ... go here. Enter "Bartiromo" as your search term, and click the "Owner Name and Address" drop down menu on the "Field" option.
Mediabistro.com says the very entrepreneurial business reporter has a number of reasons to expand her options. "They are (CNBC anchors) Sue Herera, Liz Claman and Erin Burnett," who have higher ratings are also scoring "get" interviews, says the media news site. "Maria's ratings are weak and have been for 3 years now, and she's old news."
