Yesterday's item about Google's co-founder wearing sneakers and a T shirt while trying to lobby Senators in Washington generated a huge number of comments. So did our online, live, poll, criticizing Sergey Brin for dressing so informally.

The poll votes were 50-50. Written comments on the blog post were also evenly split.
The story itself, meanwhile, really does seem to have been an inside-the-Beltway thing. Scouring the search engines this morning, I could find only one other major media report of Brin's "dressing down." Good Morning Silicon Valley said he was "apparently woefully under dressed." All the other coverage focused on the Google chief's expressing second-thoughts about working with China's demands for censorship.
