In China ... Technorati, no; The New York Times and porn, yes.
A friend e-mails he's been UNable to access Technorati "for a new days." But, "I can still get to all the major US newspapers."
A tech company exec tells me, however, he can still get to the 'good' porn sites.
The great firewall, also known as 'nanny', works in mysterious and seemingly illogical ways.
"We've received a number of reports today that users in China can't get access to the Technorati site," says Adam Hertz, VP of engineering at the blog search company. "We're trying to get more accurate information."
Tom Raferty says this could be a decision point for Technorati - whether it will censor search results for China, as Google, MSN and Yahoo reportedly are.

Coincidentally, this morning, Business Week reports how Net companies are laying down (for the money). China's Pledge of Allegiance
There's something going on at Technorati. A post I put up 5 minutes ago is tagged as having been written 23 hours ago. ???
Sites go on and off in China like lights. Technorati is down now but it could be back up in a few minutes or a few days. Until more time has passed, it is impossible to say from how high up in the government chain the shutdown came. Was it an overzealous bureaucrat on the bottom or a strong signal to Technorati to "clean up" its China act. At this point, I'm betting on the former.
